Attorney E. Jay Abt Speaks to ABC2 News

ABC Channel 2 Action News recently interviewed our very own Attorney E. Jay Abt for a piece addressing gang recruitment efforts focused on elementary and middle school children.

The report indicates that law enforcement officials have seen an uptick in extremely young alleged gang members, some as young as 11 years old. Officers have said that these children have been suspected of being involved in several types of gang-related activities, including firearm possession and shootings.

Mr. Abt is presently representing a 13-year-old accused of felony murder for alleged involvement in the shooting death of a 16-year-old. Mr. Abt maintains our client’s innocence. Still, he recognizes that there has been an increase in violent gang activity and told ABC Channel 2 Action News that more needs to be done to increase the number of police.
