Jennifer Rhodes is a Paralegal at Abt Law Firm, where she has become an integral member of the criminal defense team nearly three years ago. Jennifer is involved in virtually every stage of a criminal case, from initial client intake through trial preparation, and brings a careful, compassionate, and highly organized approach to her work.
Her responsibilities include conducting witness interviews, reviewing discovery and other evidence, assisting with the preparation and drafting of motions, issuing subpoenas, organizing case materials, and helping prepare matters for hearings and trial. Jennifer has also worked closely with Mr. Abt in the preparation and presentation of multiple major felony trials. Her commitment to criminal defense is deeply rooted in a passion for uncovering the truth and helping protect those who have been wrongfully accused.
Prior to joining Abt Law, Jennifer spent nearly a decade as a School Counselor, providing counseling, case coordination, referrals, and support to students, families, educators, and community partners. She also previously worked with Families First as a Foster Care Social Worker and Contract LMSW, providing case management services to foster children and families in partnership with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services.
Jennifer earned her Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina and her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Georgia. Her background in social work and counseling provides a unique perspective in criminal defense, where understanding people, carefully evaluating information, and recognizing the human impact of the legal process are essential.
